Press Release

iPad Enabled Image Viewing, Report Sharing and
Delivery of Critical Results

DALLAS, TX and CHICAGO, IL, November 28, 2010 – BRIT Systems continues its commitment to integrating the latest technologies into its radiology information management solutions with the new WebWorks iPad* Viewer application. The WebWorks iPad Viewer enables radiologists to share images, reports, integrated EMRs, CCRs, critical results and ER discordance cross-enterprise by connecting to BRIT’s Roentgen Works PACS server. The application is being introduced at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in BRIT Systems’ booth 4225, November 28 to December 2 in Chicago.

"The iPad is the ideal platform for referring physicians to provide patient education and use on hospital rounds and for patient portals,” says Shelly Fisher, President, BRIT Systems. “With the WebWorks iPad Viewer, radiologists can provide mobile tools for the referring physician and their patients. This extends our motto of any image, anywhere, any time to mobile users – and expands it to include CCR and other critical patient information and communications."

WebWorks iPad Viewer provides cross-enterprise support via Roentgen Works’ HIE’s Patient Discovery and its optional Master Patient Index (MPI). Legacy PACS, Vendor Neutral Archives (VNAs) and EMRs can be browser and iPad enabled with minimal integration work. Patients will be able to download the application from the Apple Store.

WebWorks iPad Viewer utilizes iPad gestures to select images or series from thumbnails, scrolling, zooming and panning, and window/leveling for selection of preset values or incremental changes. The application also provides cine viewing and auto-synchronization of images and series and quick navigation to reports, worklists, CCR and additional patient information. WebWorks iPad Viewer can also be used to communicate urgent findings and ER discordance.
