BRIT Releases WebWorks, a Browser-based Application for
Viewing Patient Studies and Reports Anytime, Anywhere

DALLAS, TX, November 17, 2009 – BRIT Systems announced today a new 100% browser-based application for simple, cost-effective viewing of patient images and reports on any computer with an Internet connection and a browser. Webworks, designed for viewing by referring physicians and their patients or for low volume review by radiologists, uses the latest information technologies (IT), such as AJAX for real-time updating of patient lists and clustering technology for true redundancy and load balancing. The application has been designed to work without requiring any downloads, not even Flash. BRIT will demonstrate WebWorks in their booth, 4014, at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 30 through Dec. 3 in Chicago.

"As part of our next generation Roentgen Works product family, WebWorks image-enables our UrgentWorks critical results reporting, SpeechWorks voice recognition and structured reporting applications and physician order entry tool," explains Shelly Fisher, President, BRIT Systems. "Our vision with our next-generation Roentgen Works is to provide products that work seamlessly with other systems, yet when combined together, offer additional synergies to the end user."

For example, when WebWorks is integrated with SpeechWorks, voice clips can be stored and played back to the user. When integrated with UrgentWorks, radiologists can enter a critical result and the user can read it and acknowledge it from the application. With the ER Discordance tool in UrgentWorks, ER physicians can use the WebWorks interface to view the images, enter their calls and acknowledge receipt of the radiologist's findings. Radiologists can also view the images and enter information, including full reports, from anywhere.

WebWorks' advanced image analysis and review tools include viewing a time line of prior studies, opening multiple patient and studies at the same time via tabs, viewing the study with the report simultaneously, and advanced image formatting, including magnification and length measurements. Using WebWorks, clinicians can dynamically query the Roentgen Works server for patient studies using a wide range of criteria, including: name, ID, study date range, study status, body region, modality, CPT code, referring physician, radiologist and facility.
